York Regional Police detectives have charged two men after a home invasion in Markham and recovered a stolen vehicle.

On Saturday, April 12, 2024, at approximately 4 p.m., police were called to a home at Steeles Avenue East and Henderson Avenue for a home invasion. When they arrived at the residence, the victim reported that two armed men entered his home and demanded money and threatened to kill him. The suspects fled in a white sports car (SUV). The victim was not injured.

During the investigation, it was determined that the SUV had been stolen from Orillia earlier that day.

With the help of our air support unit and the Toronto Police Service (TPS), investigators were able to locate the stolen vehicle. The suspects were located on foot in a mall in Toronto and arrested.

Charged:

  • Wiley GABRIEL18, no fixed address
  • Andrew PARSONS24, Toronto

Payments:

  • Armed robbery
  • Disguise with intent
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Mischief over $5,000

PARSONS was on two parole orders and was seeking TPS at the time of these crimes.
