Part of Montreal's Olympic Park has undergone a major redevelopment as part of a project to consolidate its administrative and logistics departments and transform the area into a collaborative, dynamic workspace.

It is located on the perimeter of the Olympic Stadium, the height is 2136 m2 (23,000 square meters) project — led by Montreal-based architecture and design firm Lemay and lighting agency LumiGroup — includes co-working spaces, multiple common areas, conference rooms and soundproof booths that provide private work environments.

A prominent design component includes the many light fixtures integrated in the offices. Lighting design depends on the nature of the space: rounded fixtures enhance collaborative spaces, while straight fixtures dominate concentrated areas such as acoustic booths. To reduce waste and costs, old lighting fixtures were moved to less visible, private spaces. “At first glance, it was clear that lighting played an important role in the success of this project; the radial lighting design brought special attention to the architecture of the place and its lighting,” says Lemay architect Ramzi Bosha.

Additional design aspects of the project include refinished concrete floors, curtain wall, mirrors and wood paneling. The main office space is divided into sections for human resources, construction, legal and financial services – complete with color branding to match the hues of the Olympic rings.
