Crews extinguished the fire on the 12th floor of an apartment in Maple Leaf Square

Toronto firefighters extinguished a blaze on the 12th floor of a Maple Leaf Square high-rise Monday afternoon that closed roads in the area.

No injuries were reported.

Crews arrived at 14 York Street around 12:23 a.m. after flames were seen on an apartment balcony.

Toronto Fire says the fire spread to a second balcony, shattering glass and falling onto the street below, forcing the road to be closed as a precaution.
