A 45-year-old Nebraska substitute teacher was found naked with a teenage boy

A married substitute teacher in Nebraska has been arrested after authorities say she was found undressed and in the backseat of a car with a teenage boy in it.

Douglas County sheriff's deputies identified Erin Ward, 45, after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a cul-de-sac at 3 a.m. Saturday near the 10200 block and North 189th Street.

According to the UK Daily mailwhen officers approached a gray 2015 Honda Pilot, they saw a teacher and a 17-year-old boy getting dressed in the back seat.

The boy jumped into the driver's seat and fled the scene, until he crashed the vehicle about two blocks before fleeing, police said.

Police officers found the boy wearing boxers, socks and a T-shirt more than an hour later.

The woman, who remained at the scene, admitted to having sex with the teenager, police said.

An Omaha Public Schools employee's ID was found inside the vehicle, and the woman confirmed she was a substitute teacher at Burke Middle School in Omaha, police said. He also told the police that the 17-year-old girl was a school student.

“The Honda Pilot was identified as belonging to Ward and his spouse,” police said.

After being found, the teenager was taken “to a safe place to wait and be interviewed.”

It was not immediately clear how long the accused had worked at the school.

He was charged with sexual assault by a school employee. In Nebraska, the charge is a Class 2A felony and carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
