The Brentwood stabbing: 10 years after the tragedy

Monday marks 10 years since the murders of five university friends rocked Calgary.

On the morning of April 15, 2014, Kaiti Perras, Lawrence Hong, Jordan Segura, Zakaria Rathwell, and Josh Hunter were killed at a party celebrating the end of the school year.

They were stabbed by Matthew de Grood, who was living with undiagnosed schizophrenia at the time, and was ultimately not prosecuted.

Since then, De Grud has been receiving psychiatric care.

The courts denied him full eviction from the group home he lived in several times.
