Snow, rain for Calgary: ECCC

According to a special weather statement from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), “unexpected weather changes” are expected in Calgary and much of southern Alberta on Monday.

After average spring temperatures, the weather agency said a cold front is expected to move through Monday afternoon and evening.

This will bring cold air, rain and snow, the ECCC adds.

Precipitation will start as rain Monday evening north of the city and overnight before changing to snow near Calgary.

The ECCC says it's unclear how much snow will fall, but some areas of southern Alberta could see 5 to 10 centimeters by Wednesday.
