“Queen Rock Montreal” is coming soon to Disney+ in DTS IMAX enhanced sound.

Following its record-breaking success as the largest IMAX-exclusive event release, Queen Rock Montreal will make its global streaming premiere on May 15 on Disney+ as the first concert film with IMAX Enhanced sound via DTS. It debuts with the availability of IMAX Enhanced sound for 18 fan-favorite Marvel movies, immersing subscribers in the action like never before. This was announced today by DTS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Disney+, IMAX Corporation and Xperi Inc.

Subscribers on IMAX Enhanced certified devices can experience the full dynamic range of every heartbeat moment of this digitally remastered concert film that captures the world's most iconic rock band at the peak of their live power. “Queen Rock Montreal” presents Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon at their best and funniest. The original concerts, held on November 24th and 25th, 1981, were specially arranged for a full-length concert film to document their live show. The film was restored for IMAX by Mercury Studios. Executive producers include Jeff Kempin and Alice Webb for Mercury Studios and Jim Beach and Matilda Beach for Queen Films.

Today's announcement is the latest evolution in the complex relationship between IMAX and Disney Entertainment, where audiences first entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe on IMAX in 2010. Since then, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become the highest-grossing franchise in IMAX history. Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame were the first films shot entirely with IMAX digital cameras, and all titles available on IMAX Enhanced on Disney+ feature select sequences in IMAX enhanced aspect ratio.
