Players Championship: Tirinzoni beat Vrana 6-5 in Toronto

Switzerland's Silvana Tirinzoni defeated Sweden's Isabella Vrana 6-5 to win the Princess Auto Players Championship on Sunday.

Tirinzoni forced Vrana to play a low-percentage in-off with her last hit in the eighth leg in the women's final.

Sweden's jump shot gave second-placed Switzerland the win.

The competition is the final Grand Slam event on the curling calendar.

Brad Gushu of St. John's, NL was scheduled to play Italy's Joel Retornas in the men's final Sunday at the Mattamy Athletic Center.
