Hudson State Fire. Great damage to the 182-year-old church

There was a great fire at the church in Hudson, Kv. there is a risk of major damage to the structure built nearly two centuries ago.

St. James Church was built in 1842 on the shores of Two Mountain Lake and is “suffering heavily from fire and water,” Urgens Vaudreuil-Soulange and Beauharnois-Salaberry wrote on their Facebook page.

Firefighters from several departments were called to the scene Sunday morning when a structure on Main Street in the municipality west of Montreal was engulfed in flames.

Hudson Mayor Chloe Hutchison posted a message on her Facebook page promising to rebuild the structure.

“We have been in contact with the Honorable Sophie Rolland and thanks to her strength and leadership everything remains positive, despite the extent of today's fire, there is every intention to restore what was destroyed and reopen this heritage site. and shared the love of the entire community,” he wrote.

As of 4 p.m. Sunday, firefighters were still on the scene, and the extent of the damage was still being determined.
