Ottawa Senators Tim Stutzl will miss tonight's game against Montreal

Ottawa Senators forward Tim Stutzl will miss tonight's final home game against the Montreal Canadiens with an upper-body injury, according to Bruce Harryoch.

Stutzl suffered the injury on April 4 after being hit by Florida Panthers quarterback Niko Mikkola. Lost to the Panthers 6-0. He missed last Saturday's game against the New Jersey Devils, a night where he appreciated his boos and fans.

The 22-year-old has been healthy all season after missing four games last year with a shoulder injury. In 75 games in 2023-24, Stutzl led the Senators in scoring with 18 goals and 52 assists for 70 points.

Last season, the German star scored 39 goals, 51 assists and scored 90 points in 78 games to lead the Senators again. Stutzle is in the first year of an eight-year, $66,800,000 contract extension he signed with the Senators through 2022. The average annual value (AAV) of the contract is $8,350,000. In four seasons in Ottawa, Stutzl played in 285 games, scored 91 goals and had 156 assists.

Boko Imama will again line up in the fourth row alongside Jiri Smeikal and Zach McEwen. Imama has played four games with the Senators this season but has yet to record a point. The 27-year-old has 10 points and 115 penalty minutes in 53 games with the Belleville Senators in the American Hockey League (AHL).

The Senators have a 35-40-4 record and 74 points through 79 games. They are one point ahead of the Canadiens for last place in the Atlantic Division and 10 points ahead of the Columbus Blue Jets for the worst record in the Eastern Conference.
