Maple Leafs F Bobby McMann leaves with lower body injury

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Bobby McMann left Saturday's game against the Detroit Red Wings after the first period with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Head coach Sheldon Keefe said after the game that they still don't know the severity of McMann's injury.

The 27-year-old has 15 goals and nine assists over 55 games with the Maple Leafs in 2023-24, his NHL rookie season.

McMann played in 10 games last season and recorded one assist.

Quarterback Jake McCabe missed the third quarter after taking a hit to the face. Keefe said McCabe should be fine, but not back because of a tumor around his eye.

The Maple Leafs would go on to lose 5-4 in overtime.
