Homicide detectives were outraged by the murder of Rachel Morin, 37, a Maryland mother of five who was found naked on a treadmill on August 6, 2023, raped and beaten.

So far, the police don't have many answers, but they fear their killer may be a serial killer.

“The violence involved in Rachel's case shows that she has absolutely no regard for human life,” Harford County Sheriff Jeff Galer told Fox News. “I believe he will continue to do so until he is caught. He could be a serial killer.”

Galer added: “All serial killers start somewhere. I think what he did in Los Angeles was certainly in that direction. I think it was his intention to do more serious physical harm.”

Maureen's killer DNA was linked to a violent home invasion in Los Angeles. The criminals personal touch was to sexually assault a young girl in the house.

Security video captured him leaving the house shirtless.

According to the New York Post, Maureen told friends at Glow – The Bronzing Studio in Bel Air, Maryland that she had been on several dating apps despite recently starting a new relationship with a man named Richard Tobin.

On the day she disappeared, Maureen stopped by for her daily spray tan around 2:00 p.m., then went to the gym with Tobin.

Police have been tight-lipped about the details of Morin's murder, including the nature of her injuries.

Galer called the killer an “evil coward.”

He is described as a Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old, with dark hair and a muscular build. He is believed to be 5-foot-9 and weigh around 160 pounds.

“We don't know who it is yet,” Galer said. “He could still be in our county, or he could be on the run anywhere in the country or even the world.”

The FBI and LAPD are currently investigating a secret suspect in Southern California who hangs his hat.

“I know a God that I believe in and a God that Rachel believes in, who supported her and comforted her and who never left her,” the victim's mother, Patty Morin, said at the memorial. .”
