Connor Timmins + Nick Robertson should be in the playoff lineup for the Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs locker room is filled with established veterans and is a great environment for young players to learn and grow.

The problem with so many veterans is that the young Toronto Maple Leafs like Nick Robertson and Conor Timmins can't get him into the starting lineup consistently, despite taking every opportunity.

Now, it's no surprise to hear that an NHL head coach prefers an established veteran over an “unproven” youngster, and that's been Sheldon Keefe's MO since taking the Maple Leafs head coaching job.

But for the first time since coaching the Maple Leafs, this strategy is hurting the Maple Leafs' chances of winning.

Conor Timmins and Nicholas Robertson have made huge leaps in their games this season. Timmins has increased his winning percentage (WAR) by 30%, while Robertson has increased his WAR% by 20% since the end of last season (via @JFreshHockey).

Regardless, these two are two of the most under-utilized players on this list and I wanted to take the time today to give them the credit they deserve and highlight just how good these two young Leafs have been this season.
