Alec Manoa of the Toronto Blue Jays allows four runs in his Triple-A outing

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Alec Manoa allowed four runs in 3.1 innings for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons against the Rochester Red Wings on Saturday.

Manoa allowed a total of eight hits, one hit, struck out four and threw 48 of 78 pitches for strikes. Manoa took the loss as the Red Wings won 8-2.

While his streak was unimpressive, Manoa's start was much better than last weekend's outing with Single-A Dunedin, where he allowed seven runs and walked four in 1.2 innings.

The 26-year-old appeared in one spring training game before going down with a sore right shoulder. He was placed on the injured list to start the season with Bowden Francis, who originally held the last spot in the Blue Jays' starting rotation.

Manoa will look to bounce back from a terrible 2023 season that saw him pitch to a 5.87 ERA in 19 starts and spend most of the second half of the season in the minor leagues. He allowed four runs in 1.2 innings in his lone spring start.

The previous season, Manoa was 16-7 with a 2.24 ERA, finishing third in the American Cy Young League voting.

The Blue Jays defeated the Colorado Rockies 5-3 on Saturday afternoon and will complete a three-game homestand at Rogers Center on Sunday.
