Toronto rain forecast

The rain warning has ended for Toronto, but that doesn't mean the wet sprinkling is over just yet.

“The rain has subsided, but the system is not over because it's a big system that stretches all the way to Ontario, Atlantic Canada,” Environment Canada meteorologist Gerald Cheng told CP24.

About 42 millimeters of rain fell in the Toronto area over the past 24 hours, according to Pearson International Airport.

Environment Canada issued a weather warning late Thursday night for Toronto, Peel, Halton, York and Durham regions that ended Friday morning, with northwesterly winds peaking at 70-80 km/h tonight.

Winds will decrease Saturday morning as a low pressure system moves through.

“Well, spring is really a transition season and we're trying to get out of winter, but we're not there yet… We're going back and forth between summer weather and winter weather and we've got to be ready. for that,” Cheng said.

As for temperatures, Toronto is expected to reach a high of 12 degrees on Friday, dropping to 4 degrees overnight.

Saturday is expected to have a 40% chance of rain, partly sunny skies and a high of 10°C. Temperatures will rise to 15 degrees on Sunday, with a 30 percent chance of rain.

A warm and sunny start to next week is expected, with highs of 16 and 17 degrees on Monday and Tuesday. More rain is in store for Wednesday and Thursday, but temperatures are expected to remain in the high teens.
