Toronto officer stabbed on city's west side, suspect shot: police

Toronto police say a police officer has been stabbed and a suspect has been shot on the city's west side.

Police said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that both the officer and the suspect were taken to the hospital.

In a social media post, the Toronto Police Association says the officer is conscious and breathing and has non-life-threatening injuries.

The police union also said one person was shot during the “melee,” but no other information was released.

Police say the incident happened at 1:30 p.m. today at College Street and Lansdowne Avenue.

They said roads are closed in the area as the investigation continues.
