Lethbridge City Hall, Red Deer City Hall and the Calgary Tower are among the landmarks that will turn pale on the evening of April 28 in support of Military Child Month.

This celebration is brought together locally thanks to the work of the Calgary Military Family Resource Center (MFRC), which brings together communities across the country to honor the strength and resilience of military children.

According to the center, child soldiers face special challenges when they are away from work, such as displacement and frequent turnover. However, they still show great courage and adaptability, among other things.

“We are proud to stand with military families and recognize the resilience of their children during Military Children's Month,” said Barbara Pohl, executive director of the Calgary MFRC.
