Stephanie Thomas | CTV News

Stephanie Thomas is a video journalist whose career has taken her up and down and all over the place; and again.

He graduated from Ryerson University in Toronto with a BA in Journalism; a stark contrast to his childhood in the waterfront community of Vancouver Harbour. The sights went up, Stephanie landed an internship at NBC's “Access Hollywood.” Yes, THAT show and spent a semester in Los Angeles for red carpet events, movie premieres and studio exclusives. A few months later, she joined CTV as a field assistant during the 2010 Vancouver Olympics—a hometown dream come true.

His first on-air role took him to the air as a helicopter reporter for Global BC, but he wanted to get back on the ground and get closer to the action. After writing for CTV Vancouver, he headed to Red Deer, covering central Alberta and the Capital Region for CTV. Stephanie joined CBC Calgary as a multimedia journalist reporting for web, radio and television.

As broadcast news continues to be his favorite form of storytelling, he had the opportunity to join CTV Calgary in 2017. Stephanie covers the latest news in Alberta; from politics to food and everything in between.

Based in Calgary, Stephanie enjoys singing (from classical choir to rock band) and hiking. His dog is named Jura, after the wine region and type of scotch. Stephanie speaks English.
