Officer stabbed, suspect shot on Toronto's west side: police

Toronto police say an officer was stabbed and a suspect was shot during an incident on the city's west side Friday afternoon.

The incident happened in the area of College Street and Lansdowne Avenue around 1:30 p.m.

According to police, both the officer and the suspect were taken to the hospital by ambulance. The current condition of the two patients is unknown.

Dundas Street is currently closed in both directions from College Street to Lansdowne Avenue for a police investigation.

The incident comes days after Toronto police said two officers were injured in separate attacks in the city on Tuesday night. The president of the Toronto Police Association told CP24 earlier this week that one of the officers suffered a serious leg injury that required surgery.
