Downtown Toronto stabbing: 2 in hospital

Two people are in hospital after two separate stabbings in downtown Toronto on Friday.

Toronto police were first called to Bay Street and Dundas Street.

Toronto paramedics say the victim was taken to hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Police have no information on the suspect.

Just before 7 p.m., officers responded to another stabbing at Sherbourne Street and East Dundas Street.

Police learned that the incident happened a few hours earlier at 9am and that a man in his 30s had been stabbed in the leg.

For unknown reasons, the victim did not seek medical help until the police arrived. It is also unclear why he did not report the stabbing earlier.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said it was not a random attack, but did not provide further details about what happened.

No arrests have been made and they do not have a description of the suspect, police added.
