Walmart Canada says robots are coming to two warehouses in Ontario, but the jobs aren't dangerous

Walmart Canada plans to bring robots to two distribution centers in Ontario. Over the next five years, the retail giant will expand to Mississauga and Cornwall, Ont. says the facilities operating in those cities will be equipped with technology already in use at its distribution center in Calgary. In downtown Calgary, there are robots that carry pallets of merchandise and another device that looks like a giant arm that can unpack those pallets and place products on conveyor belts. A third group of robots act as labelers by scanning and applying shipping tags to products.

The solar project is already facing opposition due to potential impacts on antelope habitat, and residents near the biogas project fear it will add to already severe air quality problems. Sarah Hastings-Simon of the University of Calgary says the province needs to be careful about where it hosts such events.
