Touro partners with Vancouver, Calgary airports to expand car sharing

Turo's car-sharing marketplace has partnered with Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Calgary International Airport (YYC) to provide its customers with car-sharing locations.

As the next step in expanding its reach, the company wants to ensure that customers using Turo's services have access to one of its vehicles when they arrive at the airport. In Vancouver, this means Turo users can park their cars. In Calgary, this means they can do so in over-elevated public parking, economy parking, or P1 and P2 parks.

“Travelers arriving in Vancouver and Calgary will have a great experience where they can skip the rental car counter altogether, jump into their reserved car and hit the road as quickly as possible,” said Cedric Mathieu, senior vice president and head of Turo. Canada said in a statement.

Touro says the partnership also empowers local hosts who can “turn their vehicles into additional income while still offering a five-star experience to all their guests.” The company also noted that this is the first time it has teamed up with two airports, and that demand for car sharing during domestic and international travel is increasing.

Turo aims to offer customers flexibility and convenience, including the ability to request car delivery to their front door, plus add-ons such as bike racks or child car seats, as well as the ability to choose the make and model of their preferred vehicle.
