The streets of Winnipeg will start getting rid of the dirt and dust of winter starting this weekend.

The city's annual Spring Break begins Sunday, and the annual yard waste collection program begins the week of April 29.

Crews will tackle cleanup tasks over the next six weeks, including roads, bridges, sidewalks and roads. The boulevards and medians on major roads, litter and trash in city parks are also addressed.

More than 300 equipment and about 500 workers were mobilized for cleaning work.

Advance parking signs will not be posted and drivers are advised to watch their area to avoid being ticketed or towed.
