One person has died in a crash on the Perimeter Highway near Lagimodière Boulevard just outside of Winnipeg.

Early Thursday morning, RCMP were told of a vehicle traveling eastbound on the highway, officers said. A short time later, the Mounties said they received a distress call.

Authorities said the pickup crossed the median dividing the lanes, then crossed the westbound lanes at a “high rate of speed” onto the concrete divider.
