Major road closures in Montreal area starting this weekend – The Beat 92.5

If you're traveling around Montreal and Laval this weekend, be aware of some road closures in the area.

From April 12 to April 15, the roads will be completely closed to traffic, starting at the Papineau-LeBlanc Bridge and part of Highway 19.

Interstate 19 will be closed from 10:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2024 until 4:30 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2024.

Southbound will be closed between Highway 440 and Boulevard Henri-Bourassa. However, Boulevard Saint-Martin remains accessible.

In addition, it will be closed northbound between Henri-Bourassa and boulevard de la Concorde.

If you want to go from Montreal to Laval, you can take the Pie-IX bridge or the Médéric-Martin bridge. To go from Laval to Montreal, you can take the Pie-IX bridge or the Louis-Bisson bridge.

In addition, between April 12 and 22, Highway 25 will have several overnight closures in both directions. According to the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, the closures are necessary for inspection and maintenance of ventilation towers.

Specifically, the portion of Highway 25 to South Shore Exit 4 – Montreal (downtown) / Jacques Cartier Bridge, along with the Charron Island entrance, will be closed. Likewise, the segment to Montreal will be affected.

The closing schedule until April 22 is as follows:

  • From Friday to Saturday: 23.00 to 08.00
  • Saturday to Sunday: 23.00 to 9.00
  • Sunday to Monday: 22.00 to 5.00
  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Detour signs will be in place in the area and drivers should expect traffic.

The Ministry of Transport recommends that drivers call Québec 511 to plan their trips.
