We now know for sure that warmer weather is on its way, as the first new summer romance, For Summer Abby Jiminez, debuts at #1 this week. Rom-coms are a lucrative category for publishers because of their popularity and staying power. Case in point: last year's big Canadian hit, Carly Fortune“Meet Me at the Lake” remained on the bestseller list for the whole year. “Date Me” is #8 on the Canadian charts this week.

Another new novel is The Secret Keeper by an Alberta historical fiction writer Genevieve Graham, whose last book was the bestseller The Boy in the Forgotten House. It is #6 on the New Fiction list and #1 on the Canadian list.

The big news of the week in book club circles is publication Amor TowlesA new collection of stories titled “A Table for Two” #9.
