The Toronto Blue Jays announced Wednesday that they have traded designated right-handed reliever Wes Parsons to the Cleveland Cavaliers for international signing bonus pool space on April 5.

Parsons broke camp with the Blue Jays, but struggled mightily in the first week of the season. In two games, the 31-year-old reliever posted a 10.80 ERA in 5.0 innings.

The 31-year-old started one game with the Blue Jays in 2023 after a three-year stretch (two of which were spent in the Korean KBO) in which he allowed 10 runs in four innings.

In 36 career MLB games with the Atlanta Braves, Colorado Rockies and Blue Jays, Parsons has a 7.40 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 48.2 innings.
