The Toronto Argos will return to Guelph next month for training camp

Rookie camp begins May 8, with a preseason game against Hamilton May 31 at Alumni Stadium

For the fourth year in a row, the Toronto Argonauts' Gray Cup quest begins in Guelph.

The CFL team announced it will host its 2024 training camp at the University of Guelph, highlighted by a May 31 preseason tilt against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Alumni Stadium.

The Argos rookies will report to a three-day camp on May 8, which will also include veteran players.

The rosters will be cut to 85 on May 11, and other veterans will begin their first practice a day later. The list will be reduced to 75 plus non-countables on May 14th.

“This will be our fourth year in Guelph and it really feels like home,” head coach Ryan Dinwiddie said in a news release.

“Everything from the facilities to the accommodation, food and the way we were treated was top notch. The University of Guelph gives us all the advantages of coming together as a team and we are excited to go.”

The camp is free for spectators, but the team says some practices may be closed.

Notification of closed practices will be at least one day in advance, the team adds.

The Argos are coming off a 16-2 regular season that ended with a loss to the eventual Gray Cup champion Montreal Alouettes in the East final.

Tickets for the pre-season game against Hamilton can be purchased online.
