Ryan Kinoshita is charged with second-degree murder

A Calgary man has been charged with manslaughter after a Mackenzie Town homicide earlier this week.

Officers were called to the 300 block of Prestwick Terrace SE just before 8:30 a.m. Monday for a report of an assault.

Police found one dead body. The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Joel Aaron Clark of Calgary.

Officers apprehended the suspect a short time later in the nearby shopping plaza at 130 Avenue SE.

Police said in an update Wednesday that 29-year-old Ryan Kinoshita has been charged with second-degree murder.

According to police, Clark was Kinoshita's landlord and the two were living together in the house when an argument between the two turned deadly.
