Richmond Hill music teacher accused of sexual assault

A music teacher in the Greater Toronto Area has been arrested and charged by police after he allegedly sexually assaulted a minor student.

According to a statement released by the York Regional Police Service (YRPS) on Wednesday, the alleged assaults involved a juvenile who was enrolled in classes at the time in Richmond Hill.

After further investigation, officers arrested Tyler Resnick, 30, of Richmond Hill, on April 5, police said. He faces two counts of sexual assault and sexual exploitation and sexual intercourse.

The allegations have not been tested in court.

Police released a photo of Reznick and said they have reason to believe there may be other victims.

“York Regional Police urges anyone who believes they have been a victim of sexual assault to report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offenses and offenders can be prosecuted after the date of the offence,” they said.
