Police have made an arrest during a house raid in Scarborough

Toronto police have arrested a suspect in a violent home invasion in Scarborough, where the resident was allegedly beaten and pepper sprayed.

Officers were called to a home in the area of ​​Kingston and McCowan Roads around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

According to investigators, the masked suspect kicked in the door, ransacked the property, demanded money and hit the victim in the head several times.

The suspect then pulled out a can of pepper spray and sprayed the victim with cash and a cell phone before fleeing.

On April 9, 2024, officers executed a search warrant and arrested 31-year-old Benhur Davil Volday of Toronto.

He is charged with five felonies, including armed robbery and breaking and entering.
