Police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old woman in an apartment near Montreal

CANDIAC, Que. — Quebec provincial police's violent crimes unit is investigating the death of a 20-year-old woman near Montreal.

Sergeant. According to Helen St. Pierre, Kv. Local police in the community of Kandiak received a call around noon from someone concerned about the safety of a woman.

Police went to the woman's apartment and found her dead.

St-Pierre says the investigation has been handed over to the violent crimes unit of the provincial police.

He said it was too early to say whether the death was a homicide.

Police have set up a command post in the area.
