Megan, Harry is adapting Toronto's book for Netflix

Meghan and Prince Harry are teaming up with a Toronto author to create a Netflix adaptation of her bestselling novel.

Carly Fortune, author Meet me at the lakeannounced a partnership with Netflix and Archewell Productions on Sunday.

“I'm so excited,” Fortune wrote of the news on Instagram. “Will and Fern's love story is dear to my heart, and I couldn't imagine a more perfect partnership.”

The love story of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex draws strong parallels to the characters in the film The New York Times bestselling book published in May.

The novel follows two strangers who embark on a life-changing 24-hour adventure in Toronto. The character's chance meeting wasn't exactly timed, but their connection was undeniable.

After meeting on a blind date while living in Toronto, Meghan and Prince Harry kept their relationship private until stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

Fortune, the former executive editor of Refinery29 Canada, did not reveal how popular it was. Meet me at the lake Would be a Netflix series or movie.
