Health Canada recalls plates sold by WSO

A set of records sold by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) has been recalled because it contains lead that exceeds the permitted limit.

The WSO issued an alert on Wednesday that the health organization has recalled a set of William Monagu ceramic plates by Canadian Art Prints that were sold at the music stand.

According to Health Canada, the recall involves boards called “Peace and Teachings.” The stock code is PLT015 and the UPC is 772665860151. Both the stock code and UPC can be found on the box.

The news comes after Health Canada found that the plates contained lead above the allowable limit. The government agency notes that lead is highly toxic and can cause serious health effects such as anemia, vomiting and diarrhea.

If you have purchased this plate set, please stop using it immediately and contact Canadian Art Prints and Winn Devon Art Group Inc. for a refund. contact the company. It is also recommended to remove the product.

The WSO apologized for any inconvenience and noted that the product had been tested and was reported to be safe for food. It said it would end its relationship with the manufacturer and conduct independent testing of products moving forward.
