Florian Hekaj has signed a three-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens have signed prospect Florian Hekai to a three-year entry-level contract.

His older brother, Arber Hekaj, also plays for the Habs. The brothers have never played on the same team before.

On Wednesday, Hekaid Jr. said his brother gave him some advice about playing in Montreal.

“He texted me and said, 'The guys are great here and take everything as you are here, listen to what your coaches are saying. And the guys are great,” he told the media.

The contract will take effect next season.

Florian Hekaj has signed a tryout offer to join the AHL's Laval Rocket for the remainder of this season.
