Bicycle advocates want Wyatt removed from civic committee for flagrant violation of council's code of conduct – Winnipeg Free Press

Bicycle calls for removal of Winnipeg Coun. Russ White of the city's public works committee said a Transcona consultant made offensive remarks at a meeting Tuesday.

In a press release Wednesday, Bike Winnipeg executive director Mark Coho said Wyatt should be fired for his “arrogant and willful violation” of the council's code of conduct.

Koho said White described him and other delegates as “bicycle Nazis” at a public works meeting discussing safety measures at the intersection of Osborne Street and River Avenue and South Osborne Street.

“The use of the term 'Nazi' is not only offensive, but also harmful to the generations affected by Nazi Germany's murder of six million Jews in the 1930s and 1940s,” the report said. “For an elected official to use such language in a public meeting without immediate reprimand should concern every Winnipeg citizen.”
