A Day in Winnipeg: Singer Tyler Del Pino

One of the things we love most about Winnipeg is that its music scene is as dynamic and expansive as its food scene.

Winnipeg's Tyler Del Pino has been making music in the city for a long time, performing regularly live around town (in addition to touring the country), as well as programming the monthly NASHVILLE MB Songwriters Rounds at Kilter Brewing. With songs that blur the lines between rock-pop, Americana, and East Coast folk-rock, Del Pino tends to write songs with star-studded narratives and a distinctive sound.

His new single “Wolf In The Hen House” is a rock-pop anthem that calls out those who choose to use others for their own gain.

Tyler Del Pino explains, “We live in a world where it feels like there's going to be another story of some horrible thing that makes someone's life difficult. “I've never understood why it's so hard for people to be nice to each other, so I tried to portray the worst character I could imagine and hope that people listening would want to be the opposite.”

You might be interested to know that when he's not making or teaching music, Del Pino is not only an aficionado who frequents many great spots in Winnipeg, but he's also a master pizzaiolo at home!

From one of Canada's best dining spots to a cocktail hotspot in the Corydon neighborhood, here are Tyler Del Pino's favorite spots in Winnipeg.
