Mexican comic book influencer Jered Licona had to have three-quarters of his buttocks amputated in a Mexico City hospital after a filler he injected into his back leaked, Dailymail.com reports.

Licona, known to her 2 million Instagram followers as @WandersLoverOficial, said the material, called polymers, was placed on her back without her knowledge and suddenly froze during a flight to Canada.

Yered said he visited his daughter when he realized she was in a bad mood.

“I was flying to Canada and I felt something was wrong on the plane,” he told local media.

“It started to hurt, I went to the bathroom and I felt my chest, it was really hard. I thought to myself, “What's going on?” I thought.

Doctors later discovered that the polymers injected into Jered's backside during a cosmetic procedure had leaked out, causing him to develop a rare condition called ASIA syndrome, which stands for adjuvant-induced autoimmune/inflammatory syndrome.

Yered said she can't determine who was responsible because she doesn't know at what stage silicone was injected into her buttocks during several cosmetic procedures.

“They only cut off the upper part of both buttocks, about four finger widths,” he told local media.

“So I was devastated, it was an amputation, it was a piece of flesh taken from me,” Jered added. “But I can't point to someone responsible because I don't know. But at no stage did anyone say to me, 'We're going to put this in your body,' so imagine my surprise, I went into a dream body and had a medical nightmare.”
