A 31-year-old man accused of robbing sex workers at gunpoint four years ago has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a Scarborough home and allegedly pepper-spraying the victim.

Toronto police say officers responded to a robbery call in the Kingston and McCowan areas. March 27 at around 2 o'clock in the morning.

Holdup Squad investigators subsequently identified the suspect and arrested him Tuesday while executing a search warrant.

“Additionally, during the search, officers found a can of pepper spray and other items of evidentiary value to the investigation,” Matys said.

Benhur David Woldey of Toronto has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, breaking and entering, willful concealment, willful possession of a harmful substance and violation of probation.

Volday was previously arrested on June 10, 2020, for robbing three young women — sex workers aged 18, 19 and 20 — at gunpoint.

At that time, he was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and two counts of robbery with a firearm.

The outcome of those earlier charges was not immediately known.
