Three things – Hellebuyck makes a show

The Winnipeg Jets continued their Central Division rivalry with a 4-3 overtime win over the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena. Kyle Connor scored 1:52 into OT, Mark Scheifele finished the night with three points (1G, 2A) and Connor Hellebuyck made 45 saves for the Jets (48-24-6). Winnipeg travels to Dallas on Thursday to take on the Central Division-leading All-Stars.

HELLEBUYCK saves the day

The Jets were feeling good going into the second period with a 3-1 lead, but Nashville took over midway through the frame. The Predators outscored the Jets 34-9 in the second and 22-5 in the second, including the third. If not for the efforts of Connor Hellebuyck, Winnipeg's winning streak would have come to an end. Hellebuyck was the main reason the team went 4-for-4 on the penalty kill as well.

“Wonderful. He got my Vezina vote, that's for sure,” Dylan DeMelo said.

“It was a big game. We definitely needed him. We hung in there, no doubt about it.”

BIG GAME FOR 55

Since his hat trick at Madison Square Garden, Mark Scheifele has had one goal and three assists in the next nine games. On Tuesday night, Scheifele had a goal and two assists in his eighth game of three or more points this season. He assisted on Gabriel Villardi's power-play goal in the first period, 1:28 later, for his 24th goal.th goal of the season and in overtime, he fed the puck to Kyle Connor on a 2-on-1 and Conner finished the game. Scheifele led the attackers in ice time (19:19).

“Obviously KS is a good shooter,” Scheifele said.

“You want to get the puck on his stick. I was just trying to participate in the pass. Definitely a great shot by him.''
