South Montreal – A motorcyclist has died after being thrown from his bike in a crash south of Montreal

A 20-year-old man has died after being thrown from his motorcycle after a collision with a car on Montreal's South Shore on Tuesday evening.

Longueuil police said the crash happened near the intersection of Boulevard Roland-Therrien and Boulevard Des Ormeaux.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured after being thrown from his bike. He was taken to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver, a 50-year-old man, was not injured.

Police closed the area to traffic, with part of Roland-Therrien Boulevard still inaccessible early Wednesday.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the collision.
