No Frills, Walmart, other stores recall laundry products News

Health Canada is warning grocery shoppers about a massive recall of more than 56,000 laundry detergent products sold at popular grocery stores across Canada.

Tide Pods and Gain Flings liquid laundry detergent packets (bags) were sold between September 2023 and February 2024 and are being recalled due to a manufacturer's defect that could harm children.

“The packaging of the recalled product may be affected by a manufacturing defect,” Health Canada said in a recall notice. “This defect renders the child-resistant packaging damaged or inoperable. Failure to use child-resistant packaging may result in inadvertent exposure to these products and serious illness or injury.”

As of April 2, the company had not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada, Health Canada said.
