A severe thunderstorm watch will end for parts of the GTA in central Ontario

A severe thunderstorm watch has ended for the Greater Toronto Area and central Ontario.

Newmarket, Georgina, North York Region, Uxbridge, Beaverton and north Durham Region were under weather warnings Tuesday night, along with Barrie, Collingwood and Orillia, but the watches have now expired.

“Conditions are favorable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms with strong wind gusts and damaging hail,” Environment Canada said Tuesday night.

“Severe thunderstorms have developed in several areas and may continue this evening as a cold front approaches.”

Severe thunderstorm warnings were in effect Tuesday evening, but they all ended.

Wednesday will be sunny in Toronto, with temperatures reaching 17 degrees.

And it is predicted to rain on Thursday. On Friday, the temperature will stay up to 9 degrees.
