Lethbridge man charged with breaking into business complex

Two Lethbridge men were charged Wednesday in connection with a commercial break and enter.

On Wednesday morning, police responded to reports of a break-in at a business in the 3000 block of North 30th Street.

Vehicles belonging to the business were broken into and many tools were stolen.

Police were able to identify the suspect vehicle and two suspects by reviewing surveillance video, and the vehicle was spotted with the two suspects on Wednesday.

Both men were arrested and their tools confiscated.

Leon Steven Cugnet, 50, and Darren Scott Trimble, 53, both of Lethbridge, were charged with shoplifting.

Cugnet was released from custody. He will appear in court on March 26.

Further investigation led to Trimble being charged with a number of other breaking and entering offenses in Lethbridge since January.

Trimble was additionally charged with three counts of criminal trespass to property, sale of stolen property, two counts of breaking and entering, house breaking and criminal mischief.

Trimble remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
