Family Day 2024 in Toronto will be open and closed

Family Day is almost here and that means the first long weekend of the year is upon us.

GTA is it It will snow on Thursday but the forecast for the weekend looks relatively calm. It will be cold on Saturday, with a high of -4C before slightly warming on Sunday (high of 2C) and a high of 3C, sunny on Bank Holiday Monday.

Banks, government services and libraries will be closed on Monday, February 19, but Canada Post offices will be open.

In Toronto, almost all of the city's attractions will remain open, including the CN Tower, the Toronto Zoo, Casa Loma and Ripley's Aquarium.

Remember, this holiday will be drivers from Monday can't park for free anymore on the streets of Toronto on legal holidays.

TRANSIT

GO Transit working on Monday according to the Saturday schedule.

TTC will be on a day holiday schedule on Monday, most routes and subway services start at 6 am

FOOD AND ALCOHOL

The LCBO and Beer Stores are closed on Mondays.

Most grocery stores will be closed on Family Day, with select stores reopening. Check with your local grocery store for hours.

ATTRACTIONS

  • The Aga Khan Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m
  • The Art Gallery of Ontario will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m
  • The CN Tower is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m
  • The Hockey Hall of Fame is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m
  • The Ontario Science Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m
  • Ripley's Aquarium is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m
  • The Royal Ontario Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m
  • The Toronto Zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m

Casa Loma is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Information and tickets are available here www.casaloma.ca.

Many movie theaters will be open on Family Day.

Outdoor rinks are open, including Nathan Phillips Rink. Check toronto.ca/skate for details and hours.

  • Promenade Mall – open from 10 am to 8 pm
  • Scarborough Town Center – Closed
  • The first square is open from 11.00 to 18.00
  • Toronto Premium Outlets – Open 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m
  • Vaughan Mills – Open 11am to 7pm
  • Yorkdale Mall – Closed
