Bernardeschi scored in Toronto FC's 1-1 draw against Real Salt Lake in MLS preseason play.

Toronto led 1-0 at halftime and saw personnel changes with coach John Herdman saying he planned to reshuffle his roster to give everyone playing time.

Toronto opens its preseason schedule with a pair of 60-minute games against Nashville SC on Feb. 2 at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Bernardeschi and fellow Italian Lorenzo Insigne scored for Toronto in a 2-0 win as Nashville won the second leg 1-0.

TFC treated the outing as two separate matches. Nashville called it a 2-1 preseason loss.

Toronto played MLS champion Columbus in California on Sunday, a game in which both teams declined to release scores or lineup details, though Toronto later showed some limited highlights.

TFC wraps up their preseason schedule Saturday in Santa Barbara against Los Angeles FC.

Toronto, which finished in last place last season with a 4-20-10 mark, opens the regular season on February 25 with two games at Cincinnati, followed by March 9 against Charlotte FC.
