A man and a woman have been arrested in Laval for selling drugs and weapons

The Quebec Provincial Police Integrated Weapons Squad (EILTA) has arrested a man and woman from Laval following a nearly three-year investigation into arms and drug trafficking.

Officers from the Surete du Quebec (SQ), Montreal Police (SPVM), RCMP and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) in collaboration with the Laval Police (SPL) arrested Laval residents Maxime Gagene-Charet, 29, and Jenny Lacans-Valiquette, 26. written in the news release.

The investigation began in May 2021 and the police charged the two with illegal trafficking of drugs, ammunition and firearms, among others. charges may be filed.

They are expected to appear in Laval court on Wednesday.

The arrests were part of SQ CENTAURE's strategy to target organized crime and gun violence.
