A Calgary teenager, a horse is the perfect match for Valentine

It's a Valentine's Day the young Calgary girl won't soon forget.

In 2020, Natalie Kovalneko and Katie Rochon rescued a horse from a slaughterhouse to give it a second chance.

They chose not to train him, fall in love with him and put him up for sale.

The blue horse now lives happily in a stable near the Spruce Meadows.

Thirteen-year-old Sienna Goldow fell in love with Blue and begged for a ride. This couple now loves each other very much.

“It was a very beautiful partnership. Honestly, from the moment I jumped into it,” Kovalneko said. “So, they've continued to be a team over the last few months, so instead of selling it, we decided we wanted to give it to him as a gift to see their partnership continue to grow and go on adventures. »

Now, this Valentine's Day, Kovalneko and Rochon gave Sienna a gift.

“I'm really shocked and it means the world to me,” the teenager told CityNews. “I was so excited when I accepted it, and knowing that it was going to be mine, I was so excited for it.”

According to Goldau, Valentine's Day is one of the best days ever.

“I'm very happy to have these two girls in my life and I'm very happy to be gifted this horse by them,” he said of Kovalneko and Rochon.

“I'm so blessed to have her now and she has so much to offer.”
