A 70-year-old man was hospitalized after a collision in Toronto

A 70-year-old man was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Toronto's Hamwood neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon.

Police and paramedics responded to the collision in the area of ​​Vaughan Road and Hamwood Drive, north of St. Clair Avenue, shortly after 4:30 p.m.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a seriously injured pedestrian. He was taken to a hospital, where his condition was not immediately known.

The police say that the driver of the car remained at the scene.
