The Toronto Argonauts have signed Canadian defensive back Tunde Adeleke, a source said.

In what may be the best option for a 28-year-old Argos strongman, CFL star SAM Adarius Pickett left Double Blue for the Capitals.

Adeleke was the highest-paid defensive player in the league last season, but was limited to 10 games due to injury and eventually lost the starting safety job to Stavros Katsantonis. The two-time All-Star remains on the Canadiens' short list, good enough to start at midfield and corner if needed.

The native of Lagos, Nigeria grew up in Ottawa and has played in 86 games with Calgary (2017-2018) and Hamilton (2019-2023), recording 232 tackles, 34 special teams, five sacks during his six-year CFL career. , five interceptions and four forced fumbles.
